WILLIAM NELSON COPLEY AT THE FONDAZIONE PRADA

150 works by the American artist until February 12, 2017 in Milan

On show at the Fondazione Prada in Milan (www.fondazioneprada.org) the largest retrospective to date dedicated to the American painter William Nelson Copley (1919 – 1996), an artist with complex personality whose works are among the surrealism and pop art. Divided into several sections, the exhibition also allows you to admire works by Max Ernst, René Magritte, Man Ray and Jean Tinguely already in Copley’s private collection and now preserved in the Menil Collection in Houston, Texas.
Curator of the retrospective is Germano Celant. The works come from: Museum of Modern Art, New York; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Philadelphia Museum of Art; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Sammlung Goetz, Monaco of Bavaria; Museum Frieder Burda, Baden-Baden.
