THE MUSEO MARINO MARINI IN FLORENCE

photographs by Massimo Pacifico

On October 21st, 1988 Marina Marini (at the civil registry Mercedes Pedrazzini), the widow of the artist, inaugurated in Florence the Museum dedicated to her husband, Marino. The museum had been strongly desired by the couple since Marino had decided to donate to the city of Florence, in 1980, a massive amount of his works. To house them the church of San Pancrazio was pinpointed, which was renovated according to the projects of the architects Lorenzo Papi and Bruno Sacchi. The monographic Museum houses, on four levels, 182 works of art amid sculptures, drawings, paintings and engravings.
